The CSTA Conference Committee is a dedicated team of enthusiastic volunteers who care about making the professional development at CSTA's Annual Conference the best in the business. The conference committee works closely with the CSTA Events Team to select the content, plan engaging moments for attendees, and help make this conference one that is developed for teachers, by teachers.

To submit an application, you will need to create a new account that is specific to this application. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Click "Login" in the upper right-hand corner or a "Submit" button.
  2. Click the "Need to create an account?" text below the login button.
  3. Create a new account that is specific to this application. We recommend using the same email address associated with your CSTA Membership.
  4. Click "Submit" to begin your nomination!

Expectations of All Committee Members:

  1. Encourage people in your networks to submit poster/session/workshop proposals.
  2. Complete "emergency reviews" to ensure all submitted proposals are properly vetted.
  3. Review all submitted proposals and reviews for your strand in order to select the best slate possible.
  4. Work with your strand sub-committee to brainstorm and implement engaging experiences for attendees.
  5. Be a cheerleader for the CSTA conference.
  6. Attend 70% of monthly committee calls on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT (Date/time subject to change).
  7. Attend the CSTA Annual Conference. Date TBD, early-mid July 2025.
  8. Strand leads and chairs should plan to attend the site visit and planning meeting. (2.5 days in January 2024, likely over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday).
  9. Be an active CSTA+ Member in good standing.

Incoming Conference Chair - 2026 Conference Chair *#

The incoming chair serves as workshop chair for one conference (2025), then moves into the role of committee chair the next year (2026), and provides continuity in a third year as past committee chair (2027).  The incoming chair focuses on the workshop portion of the conference but also assists the program chair in the larger role of planning and conducting the conference.

Posters Chair *#

The posters chair collaborates with the strand leads and subcommittees to ensure the best poster presentations are selected for the conference program. They select and develop the poster presentation schedule, and collaborate with the CSTA events team to ensure posters are a valuable addition to the conference program.

Strand Leads*#

Strand leads review submissions and recommend session proposals for the conference with a specific focus on their grade band, ensuring that teachers in that grade band have good workshops and sessions to attend. These individuals make the final recommendation for sessions featured for their strand. This is a two-year term and this individual will serve as the lead for conferences 2025 & 2026.

Strand Subcommittee 

Strand subcommittee members review submissions and recommend session proposals for the conference with a specific focus on their grade band, ensuring that teachers in that grade band have good workshops and sessions to attend.

  • Elementary Grade Band (4 positions)
  • Equity Strand (4 positions)
  • Administrators/Coaches Strand (4 positions)
