The CSForNY State Summit is an opportunity to build and amplify momentum to reach all New York students with quality, equitable, and sustainable K-12 computer science education programs.

Join us for the free, virtual 2022 CSForNY State Summit on:

  • Friday September 30th, 2022 from 9am - 1pm
  • Saturday October 1st, 2022 from 9am - 1pm
New York has new K-12 Computer Science & Digital Fluency Standards that must be implemented by September 2024. New York also has new CS teacher certifications, teacher preparation programs, funding, and teacher training opportunities. The CSForNY State Summit is an opportunity for K-12 teachers,  administrators, college and university educators, and members of education-related businesses to meet and support education programs to build or expand their CS programs.
The Summit is completely virtual, meeting 9am - 1pm on Friday, September 30th and Saturday October 1st.  Registration is free.  The Summit will include a variety of presentations and opportunities to interact with other educators in New York.  The final agenda is being published shortly, but you will find examples of exemplar lessons for classes, information about regulatory changes (certification, teacher preparation programs, etc.), and opportunities to chat with local chapter members.
There will be a LI CSTA Chapter meeting on Friday, 10:40 am - 11:10 am.  We will discuss what a few districts on Long Island are doing to prepare for the new standards and invite participants to share any plans their districts have. Upcoming meetings and plans for the Long Island chapter of the Computer Science Teacher's Association (CSTA) will be shared. We would also like to see what PD needs the group had and how Long Island CSTA may help meet those needs.  We hope you can join us.
